Bee Protected, Bee Moisturized and Bee Kissed

When we started learning about the ingredients found in lip balms- most of them not good for you and not moisturizing- we decided to make our own! We used what we wanted like beeswax and cocoa butter and came up with the most creamy moisture retaining lip balm we'd ever used! Our friends and family tried the lip balm and wanted more, so we started Honey Lips, making all natural lip balm for everyone.

What Does "Natural" Really Mean?

Honey Lips natural beeswax lip balm is truly natural. Not all products that are described as "natural" really are. Looking at the ingredients and finding out what they are is the only way you can know what makes up your product. The ingredients in our lip balm do the job lip balm should, soothing and protecting lips. We also leave out the eventual drying and potentially dangerous ingredients some other lip balms have. Get educated about ingredients and don't buy ones that contain SLS (sodium laurel sulfates), parabens of any kind, petroleum bi-products like mineral oil or patrolatum, and other irritating and dangerous chemicals. If you don't know what an ingredient is look it up and find out. We can only trust ourselves to protect our families from cancer causing and other dangerous ingredients.

Honey Lips Ingredients

Honey Lips is made of sweet almond oil, coconut oil, beeswax, avocado oil, cocoa butter, lanolin, and essential oils. That's it.

Know your ingredients:

Sweet Almond Oil-comes from the dried kernal of the plant. It is considered to be a great emollinent (something that softens) and is a mild, lightweight oil that is easily absorbed into the skin and is high in omega-3.

Coconut Oil- comes from the dried meat of the coconut and is also a great moisturizer and softener. studies show it is as effective as mineral oil but without the adverse reactions. It has also been found effective against some forms of candida yeast.

Beeswax- It's been estimated that bees fly 150,000 miles to produce one pound of beeswax. It's a tough wax made of many compounds. It's a lubricant and a protectant in our lip balm.

Avocado Oil- is one of the few vegetable oils that does not come from seeds but from the pressed pulp from around the pit. it also has amazing moisturizing qualities.

Cocoa Butter- is a pure edible vegetable fat from that comes from the cacao bean. It has a smooth texture and moisturizing properties.

Lanolin- is a substance secreted by sheep to help them shed water from thier coats. It's used to waterproof and to soothe.

Essential Oils- are the oil of the plant they come from. They are extracted by distillation. This oil is called "essential" because it carries the scent or essence of the plant. You won't find any lip balm flavors that are say "cotton candy" from Honey Lips because cotton candy doesn't exist in nature. We don't use fake fragrances or colors in our lip balm, only real things like essential oils and the other ingredients above.
